Directions from MBJ Airport
Remember, in Jamaica, drive on the Left. On leaving the airport turn left (East) and follow the coast road till you reach the exit to Martha Brae, approx. 35 min., exit and turn right, (left will take you into the town of Falmouth). Follow the road approx. 2 min. – there will be a sign on your left indicating the turn Left, into the beautiful Trelawny country-side. Exhale you are almost there. Follow this road 5 miles straight to Good Hope.

WHERE IS YOUR PROPERTY LOCATED?
We are located 40 minutes from the Donald Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Situated in the heart of Good Hope Plantation, these villas are unique. Incredible views, artistic rooms, connected to Nature. Our private beach is only 20 mins away.
HOW DO I MANAGE CASH IN JAMAICA?
ATM’s are located in Falmouth and commonly available everywhere in Jamaica. Credit Cards may be used at most places. All gratuities should be in cash and when shopping at places such as the Local Markets. Good Hope does not have a credit card machine.
CURRENCY
You may see the current rate of exchange by visiting the Bank of Jamaica website. Please ask for Good Hope's exchange rate.
WHAT ARE THE BED SIZES IN THE VARIOUS ROOMS?
Coach House Villa has 5 bedrooms total. all with a/c, all with fans and en suite bathrooms.
Coach House Villa has 7 bedrooms total.
Bamboo Apartment and Dharma bedroom are additional rooms available for either villa.
All twin beds can be made into kings.
WHAT SHOULD WE BRING?
A good book, sunscreen, hat, light long sleeves, repellent for twilight hour, camera, sneakers for exploring, goggles for swimming, open heart for receiving.
Payment Information
WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT CANCELLATIONS AND DEPOSIT POLICY?
A 25% deposit confirms a reservation.?Balance is due 45 days before travel.?No refunds for cancellations made within 45 days prior to scheduled occupancy.?For cancellations made 46 or more days prior to scheduled occupancy, we will refund all deposits less a 20% cancellation fee.
DO PAYMENT POLICIES DIFFER FOR HOLIDAY BOOKINGS?
Policies for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s weeks differ. A 50% deposit confirms a reservation. Balance is due 90 days before travel for Thanksgiving week and 120 days before travel for Christmas and New Year’s weeks. No refunds for cancellations are made within 120 days prior to scheduled occupancy. For cancellations made more than 120 days prior to scheduled occupancy, we will refund all deposits less a 20% cancellation fee.
WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT METHODS?
Deposits and final payment can be paid by cheque or wire transfer. Please note that wire transfers will attract a fee. Gratuity and food are to be paid in cash. Deposits confirm a booking; final payment is due no less than 60 days from arrival (See the rental contract for more information).
ARE DAMAGE DEPOSITS REQUIRED?
A $1,000 damage deposit is required; we will refund this promptly when you return home if no damage occurs during your stay.
ARE TAX RATES TO BE APPLIED TO CHARGES?
All local Taxes – General Consumption Taxes (G.C.T.) – are included in the prices provided. TAX is added to accommodation, transport, food etc.
MINIMUM STAY
Stays of one week or more are preferred but we will consider rentals of 4 nights or more.
CAN I BOOK AS LESSER NUMBER OF ROOMS FOR A DIFFERENT RATE?
This would be allowed with the appropriate adjustments in rates. Please get in contact.
Food
HOW IS SHOPPING FOR FOOD HANDLED?
We customarily shop for the first two days so that meals will be prepared for your arrival. After the initial shop you and your cook may plan together. Alternatively, you can create a menu prior to arrival.
HOW DO YOU PLAN MEALS?
Our cooks, Barbara and Shernett, are capable of planning and shopping for all food. We will give you a written bill of all expenditures at regular supermarket prices. You may do as much or as little as you please. Many of our guests like to accompany our cook to the market.
WHAT IF THERE ARE SPECIAL FOOD REQUESTS FOR ALLERGIES?
Please tell us your food preferences or if there are any allergies.
WHAT WOULD BE THE ESTIMATED COST FOR FOOD?
You could estimate at about US$50-$60 per person per day; prices may vary depending on the menu. We can also stock alcohol.
Transportation
IN JAMAICA, SHOULD WE RENT A CAR, OR HIRE A DRIVER?
We recommend you rent a vehicle for the duration of your stay to allow you to explore our beautiful island. Though there is so much to do on property, it is always nice to make spur of the moment plans…. to head down to the beach for sunset or a sunrise swim, etc!
Alternatively, we will recommend hiring a car and driver that will work by trip / day / hourly rate (est. $20. To $30. Per hour., depending on distances).
HOW ARE DRIVER ARRANGEMENTS MADE?
We will organise the driver for you and also give you his contact number. Transportation payments are to be paid in cash and given to the manager or head of house at the end of your stay.
WHAT IS THE TOTAL COST TO BE TRANSPORTED TO THE VILLA AND BACK TO THE AIRPORT?

Airport transfers -- For 1-4 people on the same shuttle the fee will be $80; each additional person above the 4 on each shuttle is $20. To the Good Hope private beach or glistening waters it is $20 per person round trip.
Staff
DOES YOUR RATE INCLUDE STAFF?
Your rate includes a cook, housekeeper and a butler. Other support staff such as Nanny’s for the children can be arranged. If your group exceeds double occupancy of the rooms rented then extra staff will be required.
STAFF TIPPING
The recommended tipping rate for summer guests is approximately 15% of the rental rate and for winter guests 10% of the rental divided among the staff. Additional gratuity is welcomed and appreciated.
Travel
WHICH AIRPORT DO I FLY INTO IN JAMAICA?
You want to fly to Montego Bay Airport (code: MBJ) which is in Montego Bay, Jamaica’s second largest city and the island’s main tourist destination.
DO YOU PROVIDE TRAVEL INSURANCE?
This is not part of our package and can be purchased through a company such as Allianz. Insurance can cover not only your villa costs but also all of your trip costs as well as any unforeseen emergencies that might possibly occur.
ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL LOUNGES TO RELAX IN BEFORE DEPARTURE?
There is a dedicated VIP Lounge called Club Mobay where travellers can get special treatment and a relaxing environment.
You can also book Club Mobay VIP for expedited service through the airport.
ARE STAFF MEMBERS TESTED FOR COVID-19
The villa staff are not tested unless requested to do so by the arriving guest. If you desire, we can arrange for staff to get tested prior to arrival, at the expense of the guest.
Security
WHAT IS YOUR SECURITY SITUATION?
Country House Villa and Coach House Villa is part of a small close community living at Good Hope. There will always be staff on property.
EMERGENCY INFORMATION?
Montego Bay and the Ocho Rios area have very good doctors. Your villa staff will know how to reach a doctor. Montego Bay Hope, a new state-of-the-art medical diagnostic and treatment centre which has a link with a hospital in South Florida is available, should you need to be transported off the island.
Communication and Electrical
DO THE VILLAS HAVE WIFI?
Yes - both villas have wifi.
AM I ABLE TO USE MY CELL PHONE IN JAMAICA?
You would most likely be able to use your phone. While almost every carrier has a “roaming” agreement with one or all of the three Jamaican cell providers, they usually require you to call their Customer Support line to activate “roaming” outside of your home service area.
ELECTRICITY
Current is essentially the same as US: 110 volts, 50 cycles (US is 60 cycles). Converters are not necessary for US-made appliances.

DO YOU CATER TO WEDDINGS?
Good Hope is well known for fairy tale weddings, magnificent events at the Country House or intimate parties in the gardens. Location fees apply.

We have a list of local therapists who offer excellent services and will come to your villa. Massage, Reflexology, Yoga, Manicure, Pedicure, and more.
WHAT DO YOU PROVIDE FOR KIDS NEEDS?
Crib, High Chair, Graco Crib, Beach Toys, Trampoline, Ping Pong table.

IN WHICH ROOMS DO YOU HAVE MUSIC AND TV?
Each villa has a Satellite tv in the living room. Additionally, both villas have a bluetooth speaker box.
DOES EVERY BEDROOM HAVE A/C?
All Bedrooms have A/C's and ceiling fans. The country hills are cool – there is rarely the need for A/C.
